Life Events: Born Chritiania Norway May 5 1868. Parents Andreas and Johanne (Jacobsen) Matsen. He attended school in Norway. He came to America and Chicago in 1881 with his parents. Married to Amanda S. Soemo of Porsgrund, Norway, born ca. 1872, daughter of Halvor Brunn and Maren Kristine Soemo, on May 20, 1891. Three children: Edith Mabel, Grace Magarethe and Florence Myrtle.
